On July 6, 2023, we had the incredible privilege of conducting a special Masterclass for the Fernandes Group, with a primary focus on raising mental health awareness. The session named “Managing Emotional Triggers through Emotional Intelligence,” was an absolute joy to facilitate.

Mental health is an integral part of our overall well-being, encompassing our emotional, psychological, and social dimensions, significantly influencing our thoughts, feelings, and actions. Prioritizing mental fitness is paramount because it directly impacts our ability to handle stress, build meaningful connections, and make crucial life choices. Just as we dedicate attention to our physical health, nurturing our mental well-being is essential for leading a fulfilling and harmonious life.

The heart of this Masterclass was dedicated to exploring the role of emotional intelligence in effectively managing emotional triggers. Emotional intelligence refers to our capacity to recognize, manage, and regulate our own emotions, as well as the emotions of others. It proves to be an invaluable asset in promoting mental well-being, both in personal and professional spheres.

Emotional triggers, on the other hand, are events, situations, or stimuli that provoke intense emotional reactions in individuals. These triggers can evoke either positive or negative emotions and may be tied to past experiences, beliefs, values, or personal insecurities. When confronted with an emotional trigger, individuals often experience heightened emotional states, such as anger, fear, sadness, or anxiety.

Throughout the Masterclass, our main focus was to empower individuals with strategies to gain more control over their triggers, rather than allowing triggers to control them. This eye-opening session initiated meaningful conversations among team members, fostering support for mental health issues within the organization.

The Masterclass, spanning two enriching hours, garnered resounding success with over 40 enthusiastic in-person attendees and an impressive participation of over 100 individuals joining online from various corners of the organization. The hybrid session format enabled us to reach a diverse audience, effectively spreading the crucial message of mental health awareness and the profound significance of emotional intelligence.

We firmly believe that creating awareness around mental health and nurturing emotional intelligence is a collective responsibility, and we are thrilled to have made a positive impact through this transformative Masterclass. Together, let’s continue to prioritize mental fitness and emotional well-being, striving towards a happier and healthier future.
