Suriname has taken a significant step towards enhancing its capacity in the use of geospatial technology, information, and data for better environmental decision-making through its participation in a regional training program. Organized by SERVIR-Amazonia and hosted by Lybra Training, Coaching, and Consulting, this initiative aims to equip Surinamese representatives with the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute to the sustainable management of mangroves and hydrological events in the Caribbean region.

Lybra expands Social Protection Information System with e-Government Suriname

Lybra has collaborated with the e-Government team to expand the Social Protection Information System (SPIS) of the Government of Suriname (GoS). The newly added module has the capability to efficiently register, verify, and allocate financial support to households that fall under a specific income norm.

The SPIS is constructed based on the conceptual model of the and follows international best practices. To ensure the highest level of expertise, Lybra’s professionals were certified via the, thereby enhancing their capacity to develop the system. The GoS has named this system the ‘Beneficiary Information System’ (BIS), which features a real-time dashboard that dynamically presents all critical information for decision-makers.

Furthermore, the BIS is being equipped to securely interface with banks, allowing for the transfer of information necessary for bank transfers. Lybra Digital Transformation User Conference

On March 17, 2023, Lybra organized a Digital Transformation User Conference at the Courtyard Marriott Paramaribo, was held to showcase the success of digital transformations in Suriname. Several of Lybra’s clients displayed the work they have done using tools developed by Lybra. These tools have been used for varying lengths of time, ranging from six months to 12 years.
